Tasha Layton Releases "Meet Me In The Valley (I Surrender All)"

Tasha Layton has released a new version of "Meet Me In The Valley," now titled "Meet Me In The Valley (I Surrender All)." The song is out now on streaming platforms via BEC Recordings.

The original appeared on Layton's 2025 album Life In Me and went on to become the centerpiece of a short film that followed her three-day solo retreat into California's Death Valley National Park. That trip was not a photo shoot idea dressed up as a testimony. Layton has said the song grew out of a season in which she kept sensing God telling her to "get low" — a call toward humility and surrender that eventually led her into the desert alone to pray, fast, and listen.

"What God did there was astounding, and He met me there," Layton shared of the experience.

The song was co-written by Layton with her husband Keith Everette Smith, Jacob Sooter, and Meredith Andrews. Its central claim is a simple one, and it is the reason the song has connected: God faithfully shows up in the lowest, driest, most desolate stretches of a life — not only on the mountaintops.

This new rendition leans harder into that idea. The added "I Surrender All" in the title points the song toward the language of laying everything down, and it reframes a song about being met in the valley as a song about what it costs to get there — and what it gives back.

Layton's path to this moment has been anything but conventional. A former American Idol Season 9 contestant who once sang backing vocals for Katy Perry, she has built her solo career on songs pulled directly from her own walk of faith rather than from a formula. Life In Me reflects that, with collaborations alongside Chris Brown, Rachael Lampa, Colton Dixon, and Tim Hughes.
